What age should my child first see a dentist?
We encourage a first visit as soon as your baby is born — early checks support feeding, breathing, and speech milestones. If your child is older and has never been, the best time is now; we make catch-up visits gentle.
What makes Smile Wellness "holistic"?
We look for the reason behind a problem — diet, breathing, oral habits, tongue posture — instead of only repairing damage. Treatment is minimally invasive: laser fillings without drills or needles where possible, low-radiation imaging only when it helps, and prevention first.
Can you treat children with special healthcare needs?
Yes. Dr. Kapoor trained extensively in special-needs dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center and provides hospital-based dental care under general anesthesia when that is the safest path.
How much does a visit cost? Do you take insurance?
New-patient consultations are $375. We are out-of-network and provide courtesy superbills and ADA claim forms so you can get the maximum reimbursement your plan allows. Family memberships and financing are available.
My child snores or breathes through their mouth. Is that a dental issue?
It can be. Snoring, mouth-breathing, and teeth grinding are often signs of an airway issue that affects how the face and jaws grow. We screen every child’s airway and can arrange an at-home sleep assessment.
